The gloves are finished! Now you may not be too impressed but it's a new accomplishment for me, and several new skills have been put into practice with these. Most exciting is the thumb gusset! My first one. Like most new knitting ventures, I was intimidated by the thought of a gusset, but it wasn't as hard as I imagined.
Today at the fair, I walked around knitting. I got several compliments on how "talented" I was for knit walking. I feel I had no choice. I wanted the gloves by tomorrow, and I was at the fair with my mom and dad. No one else. I would have loved to go on some rides, but I'm not going on rides with my parents. I may sound snobby, but I don't like being touched, and riding rides usually requires touching. Plus, my mom hates rides, and my dad won't go on anything that might make him dizzy. The fair was boring.
Tomorrow, maybe tonight depending on how obsessed I am, I will be starting a green cardigan with lace edging from the knitting little luxuries book (link on post 1) This will be my first sweater (fingers crossed), and if anyone is reading this please comment with any sweater making tip. I will go forward, checking gauge religiously, measuring, and making sure I don't knit too tight and give myself carpal tunnel. Wish me luck!!
